With the recent development, Hollywood stars will undergo quarantine under new UK filming rules. At this point, the world is at a standstill. And about every individual, industry, nation is affected by the pandemic. Currently, almost every major city in the world is on lockdown. Although things are not yet back to normal. Neither are some businesses remotely back on the market. The movie industry are gradually setting a pace for life after Corona virus. Among the new set rules is a new code. Hollywood stars are expected to be quarantined before the resumption of acting duties. Or the production of a new movie at all.
As the British movie industry resumes production. Every Hollywood celebrity is meant to partake in quarantine under new UK filming rules. And also get tested for Corona virus. Since production was curtailed in mid-march. Some Blockbuster movies have been in hiatus. A few of them includes; the Mission Impossible franchise, Batman, Fantastic Beats 3 and Jurassic World: Dominion.
Casts outside UK
The new code brought about by the British Film Commission apparently extends to those outside the country. The code however states that “cast and crew from outside the UK should be quarantined and tested following government guidelines”.
Some of the stars affected by this are, Johnny Depp who is meant to star in Fantastic Beasts 3. Zoe Kravitz is also on the list starring as Cat woman in The Batman. The Popular Tom Cruise to continue his role in Mission Impossible 7 and 8.
In the bid to prevent the virus also, Extras will be cut short to reduce the risks of contamination. The use of CGI should also be applied to avoid crowd scenes.
Scenes involving Sex or Contact
According to the code, scenes that require contact should be staged. The 2-metre social distancing rule should be strictly observed by cast and crew. However, if the rule seems difficult to adhere to. Facial communication should be limited. More movement side by side. Importantly, props used daily are to be properly sanitised. And limited to the users only.
Temperatures of cast and crew should be taken twice daily. Also, it is imperative every production crew have a supervisor specialised in Covid-19. Work would have to be stopped if the atmosphere seem unsafe.
Opening of Cinemas
With cities on lockdown. Cinemas have gravely suffered losses from this. Despite no improvement in situation of things concerning the pandemic. Cinemas in UK are trying to sweet-talk the Government into reopening in June. They also propose utmost safety. Providing safe distance sitting arrangement while customers enjoy their movie. Although not palatable to the likes of low budget production industries. This might be a good thing for local and upcoming actors.
